Your Hostboard Story

I found this board by just simply googling "American Girl dolls" or something like that. I had just gotten "re-obsessed" with my collecting after going to AGPNY and getting Samantha and Nellie. Not that I ever stopped collecting...I just got even more obsessed. [img]wink.gif[/img] I love this board so much!

I was on a different board...I think two or three years ago? Anyway...someone there kept talking about Hostboard, so I asked for the address. This is a great site, I really enjoy myself when I'm here!

I googled, looking for information on the MCM sale and found the board last summer. Even though I'm not a collector (just an enabler for my daughters' collections) I love the comradery of the board, and have gotten lots of tips!

Well, When I was appert of the AG club, one of my friends, told my about this site. I looked at it, & forgot to save it, but didn't really have much of a care for it..{I know! Shocking! [img]eek.gif[/img] [img]rolleyes.gif[/img] } Well, later on, I was about to quite the club, & one of my friends sent me her e-m address. Well. We e-med {e-m stands for e-mail!} for a bit, & she sent me the link again! This time I really looked at it! { Lordofthepumpkinpatch I think was the one who sent me the site} Anyway, It was like a few months later, I joined, & I've been adicted eversince!! I've ALWAYS LOVED AG, & I always felt left out, because it was terribly hard to find friends who loved AG, {I'm 14, & not very many girls my age like AG} but I was extatic when I found out that there are older ladys than me loving AG! It made me feel real special knowing I'm not the only teen loving AG!! I felt that way for like ever. I only had a few friends who liked AG...But now I know there are more! & I'm not the only one! [img]biggrin.gif[/img] [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

Also, Agfanatic was one of my friends on the AG club! & it was really cool knowing she was appart of this board to!!

I joined the board toward the end of last year. My daughter and I were searching the web for any early info on the upcoming Girl of the Year (Miss Jess!) and found ya'll talking about her.

I've been on Hostboard since 1999. I found it when doing a web search for a free message board, since my site needed a new one.

I really liked the system (especially how you don't have to click on each message/reply separately--very nice! [img]smile.gif[/img] ) and recommended it to Ann (the founder of Society of American Girl Collectors) when she started looking for a new board for her website.

The board has new moderators/"ownership" now.
